," as it makes its way through the city to california science center. a weird sight isn't it? journey of 15 miles. taking two days. the shuttle left lax early friday morning. at top speed of 2 miles an hour, shuttle controllers are maneuvering through some of the tightest spots on the route, dodging buildings, power poles and crossing the 405. spectacular. stephanie stanton has the latest for us tonight. >> reporter: fans lined the streets for it. >> oh, my god, huge. really huge. amazing to see that. this was -- in space now here in eaglewood. >> at top speed of 2 miles an hour, officials continue to navigate the 170,000 pound shuttle, avoiding trees, street lights and buildings. last night around midnight, engineers were faced with one of their most difficult maneuvers yet. getting endeavor across the 405. crews spend hours, transferring to a dolly to comply with department of transportation regulation. this morning midway through the journey, the shuttle made the stop at historic forum in inglewood for a special ceremony. ♪ >> city officials and three astronaut whose flew mission

and one other adult was also injured at st. andrew's catholic church in daly city. kimberly tere joins us from daly city with more for us. >> reporter: diane, you can see the markers left on the ground by investigators who were here for hours in this parking lot. the accident happened just before 9:00 this morning, just as mass was about to begin, and catechism for the kids was getting under way. so witnesses say the parking lot was very busy. according to daly city police, a woman in her 50s driving a minivan hit a mother, her child, and another woman. all three victims were taken to san francisco general hospital where the 6-year-old girl died. the two women, one 45, the other 46 years old are, still hospitalized tonight. their conditions unknown. parishioners say the accident is very upsetting, and at this afternoon's mass, the church prayed for the families involved. >> it should not have happened. the parking lot is small, like i said. and i think this guy must have come speeding. >> it's been there already. we don't know what happened. feel like someone is crying for help.

of thousands of people gathered in the city for a little bit of music, some baseball, and activities. we have crews throughout the city. let's begin with monti francis. he is along the waterfront. hello, monti. >> reporter: good afternoon, the blue angels took to the sky just about 15 minutes ago. for many spectators, this is what they came to see. in fact, many of these folks staked out their spots this morning. we started with the parade of ships as vessels from the u.s. navy and u.s. coast guard came under the golden gate bridge and into the bay. that was followed by the air show at 12:30, including some impressive of air ak crow bat icks. spectators were also wowed by a b-2 stealth bomber. the weather cooperated beautifully, viewing was clear as can be and not al at all hindered by the fog as in the case in years past. >> just makes you really proud to be an american and san franciscan and to be out here, just -- i just got shivers. just beautiful. great day. >> the planes are awesome. it's a great time, a lot of people out here. it's really fun. good times. >> reporter: and flee

city of south el monte in the san gabriel valley. now the couple is suspected also in a number of other crimes, including carjacking and robbery between southern california and northern california. on october 5th, susie ko was killed in her hercules home. >> it's a very big break. and we've said right along that finding the car would be one of the key pieces of evidence that we need to help us try to solve this case. and particularly since king county was able to find suspects in the vehicle, that gives us even more of a lead than if we had found it parked on a street somewhere. >> reporter: now again, hercules police are not calling the husband and wife suspects in the homicide of susie ko, but they will question them as soon as they are able. we reached out to susie ko's family, and they tell us that they are emotionally exhausted, but that today's arrests bring them a small sense of relief. >> thank you so much, kris. >>> now to a story you'll see only on nbc bay area. for the very first time, the mayor of san jose sat done with the police union to discuss thorny issues of pays

dozens of officers are now accused of misconduct during three of the city's occupy protests. the department today revealed it received more than 1100 complaints in the past year, ranging from issues like excessive force to failing to turn on video cameras. the chief says an internal investigation has led to misconduct allegations. are you ready? against 44 officers. he has recommended that two be fired and one demoted. the rest will receive suspensions or reprimands. training and counseling could be ordered for some as well. >>> they were first arrested for stealing her car. now they're facing murder charges too. investigators with the hercules police department have officially named darnell and tania washington as suspects in the killing of an east bay teacher, 55-year-old susie ko. police in washington state spotted the pair driving ko's car on wednesday, and after a chase arrested them. detectives from hercules have traveled north to interview the two suspects. they say darnell recently escaped from a southern california prison, and that his wife helped him. the couple had bee

now as an accident. live in daly city, nbc news. >> thank you. >>> in the east bay, detectives are investigating the death of a woman found in her home in hercules. police say the woman's husband called a neighbor to check in on his wife when she did not pick up up from the airport around 11:00 last night. they found the victim lying on the ground near what appeared to be blood on the floor. miss say the family's car, a 2011 sky blue subaru outback is also missing. it has an idaho license plate+4 number of 1 a 1 f 680. so far police have not made any arrests in this case and have not released any motive for the killing either. also, 22 people are facing charges after a violent protest in san francisco. this is cell phone video of police in riot gear near california and battery streets. police say a group of demonstrators marched in that area, vandalizing cars and businesses along the way. when police intervene, protesters reportedly threw flares and bags of paint and rocks at the officers. one officer was hit in the head but is expected to be okay. many of the protesters wore masks

the city's occupy protests. nbc bay area's cheryl hurd is live at oakland with more on the details. this comes at a very touchy time for the oakland police department. >> reporter: it does indeed. jessica, this is being called the largest disciplinary action in oakland police department history. this all stems from the occupy oakland unrest at 14th and broadway on october 25th of last year. according to reports there are recommendations that two officers be fired and 44 officers be disciplined for various things including excessive force. police chief howard jordan confirmed that one of his officers did fire the bean bag that injured iraq war veteran scott olson. he would not say if he is recommending that that officer be fired. meanwhile, reaction from the report was swift. >> what i wanted, i wanted the oakland police to be able to look at itself and discipline itself because everyone knows i was not happy on the day after october 25th. >> this report is indicative of what's wrong here in oakland. the report focuses on persecuting police officers and it shows the city has absolut
